主講人簡(jiǎn)介:呂海鵬現(xiàn)任香港科技大學(xué)化學(xué)系助理教授。其課題組致力于無(wú)機(jī)化學(xué)的研究,解決可再生能源與可持續(xù)發(fā)展領(lǐng)域的關(guān)鍵科學(xué)難題。
呂海鵬于 2012 年獲得南京大學(xué)化學(xué)學(xué)士學(xué)位,2017 年獲美國(guó)南加州大學(xué)化學(xué)專(zhuān)業(yè)博士學(xué)位。博士畢業(yè)后,他進(jìn)入美國(guó)國(guó)家可再生能源實(shí)驗(yàn)室開(kāi)展博士后研究工作。
他曾榮獲2019 年美國(guó)化學(xué)會(huì)物理化學(xué)分會(huì)青年研究者獎(jiǎng)、2025 年香港科技大學(xué)理學(xué)院科學(xué)研究獎(jiǎng);連續(xù)入選 2023、2024 年度斯坦福大學(xué)與愛(ài)思唯爾聯(lián)合發(fā)布的全球前 2% 頂尖科學(xué)家榜單;先后獲評(píng)英國(guó)皇家化學(xué)會(huì)《Nanoscale》(2022 年)、《MaterialsChemistry Frontiers》(2024 年)新銳科學(xué)家。此外,他擔(dān)任《Chiral Chemistry》期刊編委,同時(shí)受聘于《JACS Au》與《Materials Chemistry Frontiers》期刊青年顧問(wèn)委員會(huì)。
報(bào)告摘要:In this talk, we will show our recent development of unconventionalsemiconductors including chiral metal-halide semiconductors and quantum dotstowards exotic functionalities that are otherwise impossible with molecular systems.In the first part of the talk, we will discuss the design of chiral metal-halidesemiconductors and the origin of chiroptical activity, followed with structuralmodulation of circular dichroism and circularly polarized luminescence. We will thenshow how chirality leads to spin control in halide semiconductors and theirapplications in chiral optoelectronics and spintronics. In the second part of the talk,we will show how chemical design of colloidal quantum dots can enableextreme-potential photocatalysis via spin-exchange Auger process. We will present aprecisely controlled quantum dot system that works as a strongphotoreductanttoactivate organic substrates with reduction potentials as low as -3.4 V versus thesaturated calomel electrode. Our findings demonstrate the unprecedented potential ofquantum-confined semiconductors in facilitating challenging organic transformationsthat were previously unattainable with molecular photocatalysts.
